Ex-Comm Nominations
Student ASLA is now taking nominations for next years Executive Committee. Nominations can be emailed to unmstudentasla@gmail.com by April 28, and must have the subject SASLA Nomination. You may nominate yourself and any current Ex-Comm members who want to be a part of next years ex-comm need to be nominated. Student ASLA Ex-Comm members must be national ASLA members. Elections will be held digitally following the end of nominations. Please do not nominate anyone without their prior knowledge.
The positions to nominate for are as follows:
President (At least two individuals must be nominated for President. The individual with the most votes becomes President and the individual with the second highest amount of votes becomes Vice-President)

Position Descriptions
The President oversees the organization planning, attends NMASLA and UNM meetings in order to keep connected with school policies, events, and the landscape architecture community. There is a lot of energy in NMASLA right now for connecting professionals with the school. Any nominee should be interested in ASLA as a professional organization and enjoy promoting landscape architecture.
The Vice President gets to fill in for the pres and coordinate organization communication and generally assist with the leadership of the executive committee.
The Treasurer manages the finances of the organization, working with the GPSA to document purchases and oversee cash flow. Responsibilities include writing purchase orders and understanding what funds can and can not be spent on.
The Secretary keeps the organization organized: main duties are to prepare agendas for each meeting and to type the minutes of each meeting.
The Website Manager Maintains several social media platforms to keep members, students, faculty, and the pubic updated with what is going on with our organization. Responsibilities include updating websites and the SASLA blog with news and outreach opportunities. The website manager uses Facebook to develop connections with alumni, professionals, and other LA programs, and sends informational emails to the organization members.

Thursday, April 18, Student ASLA is holding a relief workday for all student members. Come down to P139 3rd Floor LA Studio Space 9am – 5pm to work on final projects and ASLA Design Award Submissions, get feedback from other students, and enjoy some food all day.
